The Halifax Past Rabbit Captains Golf Association was formed in 1968.
The first president was Sam Hall from Ryburn Golf Club who donated a Silver salver to be played for annually and to be known thereof as the "Sam Hall Salver". This competition is played at the President's home course.
The "Roger Heap Trophy" was added in 2008 in memory of the Past Secretary Roger Heap who spent many years organising the Association. This competition is often played for at the Vice Presidents home course.
Also played for is the "Past Captains Trophy" which is played on a chosen Away course of the Secretary and current President.
All the above results are taken into consideration when presenting the "Order of Merit". This is presented at the Annual Dinner Dance.
A further 2 man team Competition is the "Foundation Trophy" which is a knock out Trophy played for throughout the year. This is also presented at the Annual Dinner Dance.
