The party arrived at 9.30 and all the players were welcomed by the traditional "bacon butties and coffee". The Staff welcomed us and our thanks go to Malton & Norton Golf Club for their kind attention. The day finished with a meal of superb quality, followed by coffee and the prize presentation. Those who did not come missed a treat.
As promised the golf was a true and challenging test, worthy of a championship Course of such high standing, with 9 holes being played on the Derwent Course in the morning. followed by soup and sandwiches and a further 18 holes on the Welham course in the afternoon. The weather also joined in and gave us a pleasant day of good golf with competitive Golfers. As, is becoming usual, the numbers of participants (20) was very disappointing to both the President Robert Mallinson and the Organiser - Chris Iredale and we hope that next year more support will be given to this excellent Annual Association event.
Our grateful thanks go to Chris Iredale, for organising this day and who because of illness, could not take part, but we look forward to welcoming him back on the Courses next year.
